One of Don Miller's lesser known talents is growing orchids.  He told us that orchids don't like direct sunlight, so they should be grown on the east or north side of your home.  Water should be applied every few days, & not allowed to pool on the plant.  There are many varieties of orchids, including one that is particularly well-suited to supplying us with vanilla!  Commercial orchid growers often combine varieties, to extend their season.

From our Rotary Foundation Director, Michael Wardlow, Don received recognition as a Paul Harris Fellow.

Rotary Club of Vernon member, PDG Jack Peters, told us about their Feb 27th dinner gala at the Schubert Centre, celebrating their 90th anniversary.  This club spawned our club, along with the Armstrong, Kalamalka & Revelstoke club, plus another in Kelowna.
